Dr. Meghan Fraley
Clinical Psychologist & Political Activist
Issues: Economic Inequality, Labor & Workers' Rights, Mental Health
Ballot Position: #8
I am running for re-election as a California Democratic Party Assembly District Delegate. I am a North Star Progressive Democrat candidate, committed to upholding the values of this progressive movement within the Democratic Party.
As a clinical psychologist and community organizer, I have dedicated my career to using my skills and experience to make a positive impact in my community. I am proud of the organizing experience and accomplishments that I have achieved, including spearheading the South Bay Peninsula Raise the Wage coalition, which helped to secure one of the highest minimum wages in the country for 95% of workers in Santa Clara County. I have also been deeply involved in efforts to promote police reform and accountability in my community, and I led the successful campaign for a progressive business tax in Mountain View, which has resulted in $10 million in new tax revenue each year.
In my professional life, I am a licensed clinical psychologist and the Executive Clinical Director of Cielo House Eating Disorder treatment centers. I hold a Master's in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Sofia University, which have given me the knowledge and skills to effectively advocate for mental health and well-being.
I am passionate about issues such as economic justice and reducing economic inequality, and I am actively involved in advocacy groups that fight for these aims, including the Mountain View Coalition for Police Reform and Accountability, which I helped to found, Progressive Action Mountain View, Mountain View YIMBY, and the Peninsula Democratic Club, of which I am a board member. I am also a former board member of the Northern California ACLU.
I believe that my combination of professional expertise and community engagement make me uniquely qualified for this role. Throughout my time as a delegate, I have worked to promote progressive values by advocating for a range of important bills that address issues such as environmental sustainability, health and wellness, equity and inclusion, economic justice, and worker protections. As I seek re-election as an ADEM Delegate, I am committed to continuing to promote progressive values and create a more equitable, just, and healthy society for all.
